Hello,

My name is Billy.

Please disregard computer generated phone offers as that option is not currently available.

Is the blower running nonstop? Was furnace power turned off before swapping?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
No turned the power off
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

Ok what color wire did you put on what terminal?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Blue on b ...green on g ...white on w and red on r
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

Thank you.

I am betting the blue actually goes on Y. You dont have a yellow wire and in the absence of yellow, blue is used.

Move the blue to Y terminal and test.

Switched but just the fan still with cold air
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

is this a gas furnace with ac?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
It's gas no a forced hot air
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
No ac
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

furnace only?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
it sounds like it kicked in but still cold air
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

What is the new thermostat model number?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Rth221b
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

for heat only (gas furnace) this thermostat only needs 2 wires...R terminal and W terminal. The G and Y are for ac if you had it.

If you take the red wire and the white wire and just twist direct together...do you get heat?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

Then put red on R and white on W.

Try again as a test and let me know result

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Actually it's still blowing cold air
HVAC Technician: BillyHvac, Journeyman HVAC Tech replied 6 months ago

ok if red is twisted to white directly...it is not a thermostat issue. Red to white direct bypasses the thermostat.

Can you go to furnace and tell me if flame on

Hello, my name is ***** ***** It looks like Billy had to log off, so he opened this up to me. I'd like to revisit something you did before... you say that when you connect red and white wires together at thermostat that the heat comes on, correct? What brand was the old thermostat?
