We would need a meter to troubleshoot. If you have a meter let me know .If not you can get an inexpensive one at Walmart for about 15 bucks if you would like to troubleshoot and I would be happy to guide you.

It sounds like the thermostat may be set for a heat pump if outdoor is getting signal on call for heat. Give me model on thermostat and lets take a look

HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 month ago

First step is to see if we are getting 24v to the outdoor on call for heat and if so we have to find out why.Could be bad thermostat

Hi;
I'm back as I had to go out of town. I replaced the thermostat and same issue so we can rule that out. I just bought a new digital multi meter as mine was not working. It's a commercial electric MS8301A.

The furnace all looks like it is wired properly. I disconnected the jumper cable which jumped Y & GC.
The condenser has two thermostat wires red & White. The Red is connected to a delay timer and the white goes to a terminal that has nine or so other wires connected to it.
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 month ago

Check for 24v between Y and C at furnace
