Sounds like you have and old Trane thermostat by the T on terminal board. Brown you can tape off you do not need. Red to Rc with a jumper to R which should already be there. Orange to The W/o/b Yellow to Y white to W2/AUX Green to G On the blue check to make sure that is not B instead of a E. If it is a B that will go to C terminal. Russ

W1 and W2 goes to W2/Aux Put them in same terminal. Russ

It's don't go Y and Y2?
HVAC Technician: gotoman for ac, HVAC Technician replied 7 months ago

No yellow goes to Y . Y2 empty. The original thermostat was a three stage heat. The new one is a two stage heat that is why both go under the one terminal W2/Aux.

You tell me Y , W1 and W2 go W2Aux/E same spot?
HVAC Technician: gotoman for ac, HVAC Technician replied 7 months ago

Yellow goes to Y. Black and white go to W2/Aux. Should have put period in there to separate.

How is work change two stage with heat pump?
HVAC Technician: gotoman for ac, HVAC Technician replied 7 months ago

1st stage is your heat pump . Second stage is your electric heat. The electric heat comes on when heat pump can not keep up. Russ

Customer reply replied 7 months ago
You sure both stage don't run same time?
HVAC Technician: gotoman for ac, HVAC Technician replied 7 months ago

The only time both stages will run at same time is if the heat pump or first stage can not keep up. Then the second stage will come on to help with heat.

Customer reply replied 7 months ago
What I have to set up if I go only w2/aux/e
HVAC Technician: gotoman for ac, HVAC Technician replied 7 months ago

You can use W2/Aux by going to emergency heat. That bypasses the heat pump. Russ
