Good evening lady hru...

Good evening lady hru? I'm troubleshooting an American Standard Freedom 80 furnace that's indicated to me the thermal protection device is open. What do I need to do to fix the issue?

Contractor's Assistant: Did you check the furnace's filters?

There is none yet I reminded the customer to buy some.

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

If I can fix the issue

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Not at this time. ..just what can I do to fix the issue.

Hello,

My name is Billy.

On the front wall of the furnace behind the gas valve is a flat plate with 2 wires attached.

Do you know what/where this is?

Or you can remove the top door and take a pic and post here and I can circle parts
