Customer Question
Hi I have a...

Hi I have a wiring issue. I’m going from a digital back to analog. The way it was wired on digital was Y1 had yellow (with a jumper to W1), Rc had red wire (with jumper to Rh), G was green wire and W

Contractor's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?

Sorry white wire went to

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Today

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Sorry yes the white wire went to O. ??? The a/c works fine but when I connected White wire to W instead of O in the analog thermostat the a/c and heat came on together and a/c alone didn’t work?

Contractor's Assistant: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?

Yes.

The yellow wire should go to Y by itself no jumper and White should go to W by itself no jumper try that and it should work.

All I ask is please select the 5 STAR rating at the top of your page before leaving otherwise I receive ZERO credit for assisting you. Thanks and you can come back anytime for free followup questions.

I did try that. I recognized and have read up on it that’s why I’m asking for help.
HVAC Technician: HVAC Guru, HVAC TECH replied 10 months ago

OK so you have RH to R jumpered which is right, you should just have Y to Y and W to W do you have a HEAT PUMP?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
On digital:
Green wire -G
Red wire- arc (jumper to Rh)
Yellow wire- Y1 (jumper to W1)
White wire- O
I hooked wires to analog like you said.
Y-yellow
W-white
G-green
Really-red with jumper to rh.
Neither just a/c OR HEAT CAME ON SEPERATELY. So I connected white to O and a/c works only?
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
I don’t believe it is. There’s a compressor outside and a unit in attic
HVAC Technician: HVAC Guru, HVAC TECH replied 10 months ago

Ok you have a heat pump if anything was connected to O on the old one. If that is the case does your analog have an O terminal?
