Customer Question
Furnace didn't come on...

Furnace didn't come on this morning - haven't used it much over the summer, never any problems before - will check the pilot light but if is on is it time to call a professional?

Contractor's Assistant: Did you check the furnace's filters?

Changed it out earlier this fall - maybe put in backwards?

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Beyond checking the pilot light, no haven't any real knowledge

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Is there a way to check to see if it's the thermastat?

Yes we can check to see if thermostat is issue by removing R and W wires at thermostat and touch wires together. If heat comes on , thermostat is the problem. If not we will move to the furnace.
