Hi I'm Brian and I'll be happy to help with your thermostat decision!

Yes, the Nest thermostat will be fully compatible with your Water Furnace system. Are there any specific questions you have about the combination?

Thanks,

Brian

I am unable to get my thermostat off the wall can you walk me through it

I do not want to spend any more money with a phone call

Sorry about the phone call thing, it's an automated thing. What make and model is your current thermostat?

water furnace TA32E12

Ok with that thermostat you will pull the face off of the base by inserting your fingernails in the seam between the front of the thermostat and the wiring base, then just pull and it will snap apart from the base.

After you get that part off, the wiring will be exposed. MAKE SURE you turn the service disconnect at your Waterfurnace unit off before proceeding any further! You could also shut off the breaker for the unit in your breaker panel. (sometimes if the breaker panel is in the same room as your unit, the breaker will be the only form of service disconnect).

Now you can snap a picture of the wiring before unwiring the terminals. After that, it's just a matter of removing the two screws from the wiring base plate.

but you are sure that the Nest thermostat E is compatible with my system?

You're very welcome! I can help with the installation of a Nest thermostat too if you need it. In addition to the picture you took of the wiring, I would need the full model number of your Waterfurnace unit itself.

Let me take a look at a few things to ensure that. A picture of the wiring would help if you can upload that here using the "Attach Files" button right next to the send button in your reply window.

I will have someone else install it as long as you are sure that the Nest thermostat E is indeed compatible

Yes, I am sure the Nest E is compatible. The only possible thing that could need to be done is a 24 volt common wire wired up if your current thermostat doesn't have one. The Nest may well work on your system without a common terminal though. If there is a spare unused wire in your thermostat cable this will not be an issue at all for the installer. If there IS a spare wire, I would recommend using it for the 24 volt ac common even if the Nest works without it!

OK I can see this is out of my league for installation but I will go ahead and order now that I know it is compatible

Very good then. You will enjoy your Nest thermostat. It is a quality unit with many features!
