I have a new Honeywell model RTH111 thermostart that I am connecting to a two wire boiler . A red and yellow wire coming from the furnace. What terminals do I connect the yellow and red wire to on the RTH111?

Contractor's Assistant: Just to clarify, do you think this is a larger HVAC problem, or something specific to the thermostat?

The furnace is an older boiler that had a connection to a simple two wire thermostat.

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Yes. I tried connecting to the R/rc terminal with the red wire leaving the jumper between both and the yellow wire to the Y terminal but the furnace does not start.

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

All I need to know is where to connect the two wires coming from the furnace to the thermostat.

Connect R to RH terminal and Y to the W terminal and it should work when set to heat.
