My name is Billy. The filter reminder is just that...it knows nothing about your filter...it is just a timer that goes off after so many hours of run time. Then in the thermostat (depending on model) you just reset the "timer" and it starts counting hours again.
The fact a breaker tripped is a sign of a problem in the high voltage side....was it the furnace or ac breaker that tripped?
This means there was a high amp occurrence in the outdoor unit.
Would this unit still be under warranty if only 8 months old?
Do not do anything else other than resetting breaker or checking fuses....any other work could possibly void warranty.
The fact it tripped a breaker means you will need a service call to check to see what the short was.
I assume once you reset the breaker the ac outside never responded again?
quite often there are fuses inside the disconnect box at the outdoor unit.
May be worth checking. You can also attach any pics here for me to see and direct.
Understood. Keep this on your end until ready to respond
whats the status today?
can you post pics of the disconnect box?
thanks...now at the outdoor unit...is there a power box next to unit?
what about the box that feeds the outdoor unit not working?
ok show me pic of the unit not running and the foot or 2 around it
this is just for an example....the box on the wall feeding the ac unit can sometimes have fuses
ok at the pull out....is there 220v there?
I understand...but do you have 220 volts present at the box....measured with volt meter
Can you get a meter and with instruction check some points?
