out door fan motor will not start without a little push on blades. tryed lituim grease on shaft no help. Will opening motor case and cleaning and lubricating help.steve

Customer: Just started yesterday. motor runs fine once it is started

My name is Billy. If the fan starts and runs with a push, you have a bad capacitor. This is a round or oval cyclinder that the fan wires lead to.

You must turn power off....remove capacitor after marking wires...get a identical rating capacitor and replace. Then you will be back in business...should be less than $40
