Customer Question

My pilot light won't stay on
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: Noticed this morning. Have tried a number of times. As soon as I take my finger off of the button, the flame goes out.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of the appliance? And has it done this before?
Customer: First time with issue. Where is model found?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: If easy fix, sure!
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just the pilot light issue

Welcome to Just Answer, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you with your issue. If my initial response doesn’t answer your question then let me know and we can continue our conversation.

What you describe typically indicates a failed thermopile or thermocouple which is the flame sensor in the pilot flame. The first thing we would do is replace it.
