Hi, I had a Ritetemp 8029b thermostate which went bad, so I replaced it with a Totaline p474-1050. Now, I cannot get the system to work properly

Contractor's Assistant: Just to clarify, do you think this is a larger HVAC problem, or something specific to the thermostat?

I think specific to the thermostat

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Yes

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

I believe it's a dual-fuel system, natural gas and Trane heat pump. I do have pictures of the old thermostat wiring, and the new thermostat wiring

I think I may have figured this out. I'm going to go over to the house now and test out my theory. I believe I have one extra wire hooked up on the new thermostat that I don't need. If that's not it, then I'll let you know. I do have pictures of the old and new thermostat wiring.
