What is the position of the probe in relation to the pilot

Customer Question

What is the position of the probe in relation to the pilot tube. Does the probe tip need to be in the Flame? This for a Riello RLS 38 gas burner.

if the probe is not within the pilot flame it will not stay lit. It transmits a very low signal through the flame to tell it that is present so you don't leak gas if pilot goes out.
