Why is the Lennox gas furnace cycling in very short cycles?

Customer Question

Why is the Lennox gas furnace cycling in very short cycles? The door had been made loose, I reassembled and now have very short cycles.
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the pilot light?
Customer: Thermostats seem ok, and it feels like it is heating. How do I check to be sure pilot is lit?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Just to try and determine problem... Yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No, just that the lower panel was made loose, was not holding the switch, and now it is doing hort cycle thing
