HI, I can't seem to get my white rogers 1f 285-277 to work today; (it has before) the fan will come on, but not the heat. any "quick fixes?"
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: yes, I've tried to turn the heat up, but I haven't tried the filters, that's agood idea.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I can do easy things, but not too experienced with hvac. going to try a new filter, brb

Turn the power off to your furnace, leave it off for 5 minutes, then turn it back ON... that is called a soft reset. If that works you might be OK, we will have to wait and see.

If that does not work, they a technician on site will be required. In that case tell me which direction you are from the center of the nearest town or city and I will look for a well rated outfit near you.
