Hello, I need the model number on the unit so I can pull a manual on it.

Most of those units however ignite the main burner directly, there is no pilot light.

Try turning the thermostat OFF, wait 5 minutes, turn the thermostat back on and set it for heating at 90F tell me if the furnace or heat pump now works. We can go from there

Modrl 683bnw048115abus. No it definitely had a pilot light. When we walked around the corner of the house there was a strong oder of gas. We've already tried turning it off, waiting and then back on.

Thanks, ***** ***** number does not compute.

Locate the unit wiring diagram glued to the inside of one of the service panels and take a well lit, close up photo of it... photo must be exceedingly well focused.

attach the photo here using the attach files link next to your send button, I will mark it up with trouble shooting instructions.
