Customer Question

Hi Pearl-I have a Rheem gas furnace model 36C03 c.1978 with a electronic striker. It won't relight. Gas valve is on, I checked the breaker panel box for tripped circuit=breaker and that was fine. I pushed the lighter valve (in the "pilot" position) for about 90 seconds but no luck. I don't hear any striker sound (click, click, click) Any suggestions?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the pilot light?
Customer: where should thermostat dial be? I can't see where to light the pilot. I believe it to be electronic with no match needed. Is that correct ?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes, I've worked with many pilot relights on water heaters, etc. and I've also had experience with electronic strikers
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: yes where should the thermostat dial be set?
