When temp reaches the proper setting, thermostat will shut

Customer Question

when temp reaches the proper setting, thermostat will shut off in warmer weather, however at nite when it is colder it reaches the right temp but keeps producing cold air till temp drops then the heat kicks in again....over and over....
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: furnace filters ??
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: i've had two techs here they cannot figure it out and i am not a repairman
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: just that the fan keeps blowing cold air at temps around 50 but not when weather is warmer

Sounds like you may have a sticking relay in furnace.

Can you give me complete model from inside furnace in burner compartment so I can provide guidance with this specific unit.Model will be on a label just above burners on right or left inside panel

Then look in blower compartment and see if we have a control board with a blinking light. If so tell me the pattern of that flash. That will indicate what is wrong and tell us where to start troubleshooting.

Let me know if you have a voltmeter to do some troubleshooting
