Customer Question

I have a Bryant plus 90 furnace. Works fine but there is a small pump attached to the outside of the furnace that seems to pump condensation away into sewer pipe. Last night the motor on that pump started making grinding noises. I unplugged it. The furnace still runs fine.
JA: Did you check the furnace's filters?
Customer: No. but I will.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes. I've changed the filter before. I think it's clean
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Can I leave that pump disconnected?

Hello,

My name is Billy. You can leave unplugged but the furnace will still drain. So you will need a bucket..keep emptying pump, run a hose, or keep a mop handy.

The furnace will run fine...but it still will drain water.

Should I remove the pump and get a replacement?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 10 months ago.

yes. You can get one at any home improvement store. They just work off a internal float in the pump so any plug in pump will work
