I have a goodman 20kw heat kit can't get it to heat properly what kind of thermostat do I need ?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: V filters are fine have to set at 80 or higher but still only get 10 to work
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yeah
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just wanted to know if I needed a t state with emergency heat setting

If you have a heat pump, you are going to need a two stage heat, one stage cool thermostat with COOL/HEAT/and EMER HEAT as system selector.

The Honeywell RTH6350 is an excellent choice.

Sorry it took so long getting back to you but I ended up having to catch a flight to Michigan to see about my mom. The system is a 5ton air handler with AC and a 20K heat kit. What type tstat should be used so that it stages in properly? Thanks for your help and patience. I will rate your service as soon as we are done.

The RTH6350 I mentioned is a great choice. If you can provide model on both air handler and outdoor unit I will be happy to guide you in wiring the thermostat
