My carrier furnace CAC/BDP has an error 57 message? What does this mean?
JA: How old is the appliance? Have you gotten error messages before?
Customer: Maybe 4 years No previous error messages that I know of.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: if we can
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: We had a broken pipe which has led to no heat and now this error message The pipe was a cold water pipe but I don't know if it was directly connected tot he furnace

What is the model you are getting the error code on?

This is a error that the ignitor has cracked or shorted to ground. This is a situation where you must access the ignitor at the burner rack and see if cracked or broken and replace.

There is not much troubleshooting for this failure and is not related to a water pipe failure...UNLESS the water actually got on the ignitor during use.. which means the ignitor still replaced anyway.
