After burners ignite, does blower ever come on before it shuts down?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question

HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK do you have a multi meter for troubleshooting?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
no, but blower runs on fan only and when ya kick to cool auto
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

I am suspecting you may have an issue with control board.Does new motor do same thing old motor did?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago

HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK the motor gets its signal from relays on the control board.Different relays for heat cool and fan.So fan and cool can be ok but heat relay not closing. Do you get any error code on board other than the open limit code after it shuts down?

HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK now the model you sent me was for an ignition module, not blower control board.Do you see a different board that fan wires connect to?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago

OK one slow flash then burners lit fired for about 90 seconds then went out exhaust fan running. No more flashes and only one firing.
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK if burners stay lit for that long and blower does not come on we are not getting power to motor. Do this, Turn fan to FAN ON and see if furnace will stay lit

Yes

Customer reply replied 1 year ago
It's not lots of small clicks but not firing
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

Fan on should not effect burners from lighting, Disconnect the low speed fan wire.

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Fan kicked on
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK how about burners?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Nothing
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

OK go ahead and put wire back. You are going to need to get a meter and check to see if we get voltage to motor on low speed after burners come on.Since motor is new, I am suspecting relay not closing sending power to motor.

Thanks. The red and white wires should be common and low speed. So what we want to do is put meter on red and white.Turn furnace to call for heat.30 seconds after burners light we should get 120v between red and white.

Well the first message sent said it was a $5.00 refundable fee but then ask for payment of $28.00 which I did because we need church furnace working. How much just for this one time?
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 1 year ago

The total should be the 28.00 but I can request a refund since we did not solve if you choose although I have spent time on this, my main goal is to help.
