I have a furnace model no. DGAA056BDTA and the blower motor

Customer Question

I have a coleman furnace model no. DGAA056BDTA and the blower motor makes a humming sound but will not come on. Could it be the capacitor?
JA: Did you check the furnace's filters?
Customer: new filters
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I took wires off capacitor and put screwdriver on terminals to release charge, put on ohm meter but needle did not move

Sounds like you need a new capacitor. An ohm test should give you a reading the the ballpark of the uF number on the capacitor
