Customer Question

I have a steam heating system in my home - the pump on the condensation tank comes on about every 4 minuets or so. Some how or other there is water leaking into this tank from the boiler or some where. It continues to pump water out even when I think that I have all of the water sources turned off.
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: The thermostat is turned off.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: if possible - I have had several people work on my furnace over the years and frankly I don't think that any of them are well versed on stream heat systems - I have spent a fortune - replaced many parts - with minimal results. This is a new problem however that I have not had before.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: no

There should be a check valve between the condensate tank and the boiler. It sounds like that check is leaking by. It will probably have to be replaced.
