Customer Question

Our Paloma natural gas tankless water heater is flashing a C7 and 75 error codes intermittently. Sometimes they can be reset and the system works OK. Seems to happen more in the morning than evening for the last 3 weeks.
JA: How old is the appliance? Have you gotten error messages before?
Customer: It is 8 years old, and never before ( since the last 3 weeks ).
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I have flushed the system with vinegar for about an hour yesterday, but I do not believe I can do much more if it involves going further into the system.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I am concerned because we recently had an HVAC system replaced in the house. The installer of that Air/heat system says they did not interrupt the gas line to our water heater in any way.

Are you sure the code you are seeing is 75 and not 76 possibly?

Expert:  Webb-Guy replied 10 months ago.

If it is 76 which is extremely common for this model its your control board and if you contact the manufacturer they have been replacing these for free for people because its such a known error.
