How much do you know abour a 20 year old Rheem 80 gas

Customer Question

How much do you know abour a 20 year old Rheem 80 gas furnace?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the pilot light?
Customer: The inducer comes on and the ignitor clicks regularly but the burners do not ignite. I have just replaced the inducer.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: If I can. I think is is some reletavely simple since it was working fine last season. Can replacing the inducer cause the problem?
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I replaced the inducer since it was vibrating loudly. it seemed pretty simple. I did use high temperature permatex red as a gasket but I'm concerned the replacement might be causing the problem.
