I have a 10-year old Mertix Maxitrol gas fireplace but no

Customer Question

I have a 10-year old Mertix Maxitrol gas fireplace but no instructions. Where can I find? I bought the house 3 years ago and have never used the fireplace. There is an on/off fan button, a red lever that seems to turn on the gas and two round knobs, one for ignition and pilot, the other for on off.
JA: Just to clarify, what type of fireplace is this?
Customer: gas with the fake logs
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I have renters coming in who want to use it. Perhaps it's only a matter of lighting the pilot?? I may have my handyman help me.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I turned the red lever to what seemed to be the on position today and did smell gas, but the fireplace did not light when I pushed the knob to ignite nor when I pushed it further to the pilot setting.

Do you have the model number? It should be on a label on frelace

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I can barely see the label as it's in an awkward place. The only thing I could read was the manufacturer.

May be tough to find correct manual witihout knowing mode.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Hmmmm. I'm not at the house now but could possible peal the label off tomorrow and call back with the model number and any other info on the label. Can I call you to continue this conversation?
Expert:  airheatman replied 10 months ago.

The Mertic Maxitrol, may just be the manufacturer of the gas valve and controls.Look and see if any other labels. Maybe a picture of fireplace may also help.

Ok, I can do all of this tomorrow. If I take pictures with my cell phone, what number or email do I send them to? Also, will I have to pay again for this service?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you. The picture you uploaded is only on the lighting instructions. Please look for a model number. Maxitrol IS the manufacturer of the gas valve not the appliance

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Hmmmm. There should be 4 pictures.
Expert:  WCohn replied 10 months ago.
