Customer Question

JA: Hi. How can we help?
Customer: I am a potter with a gas kiln with 6 burner port in the floor. My problem is that the pilot lights and all the burners flame up except the one closest to the ignition. and soon after turning on the burners ( less than a minute) , THERE IS A FLAME immediately TO THE LEFT OF THIS BURNER!, coming from the pilot ring. I have shut it down and cleaned the burners. Is it likely that this is caused by back pressure? Should I try to take off the oriface to clean it? Should I disconnect and blow out the pilot ring? All suggestions I have entertained. Thanks!
JA: Have you talked to a construction professional about the floor?
Customer: Hi! did you get my message re the kiln?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: YEs, if I can.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I am a potter now working with a deadline for production.

It sounds to me like the pilot flame is pushing gas away from the burner. Could be debris clogging the pilot or the burner orifice not allowing gas through for the pilot to light it
