My 3-year-old Friedrich window unit shut off in the middle

Customer Question

My 3-year-old Friedrich window unit shut off in the middle of the night.
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the unit's filters?
Customer: Where is the thermostat, please? And the filters look pretty dirty to me.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I just want to have an understanding of the possible problems. I have called a tech to diagnose it.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It's a CP15G10, 15000 bTU, 10.7 EER Chill Series. It's been running nonstop.

So you have power at the receptacle for sure?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have tried the reset button and that doesn't work. I think I heard a noise in the night right before it died.
