My thermostat does not operate in the auto mode only fan, it keeps blowing out the batteries every 6 hours, do I need a new thermostat?? This one is only about 4 years old.

1.What do you mean by blowing out the batteries? Does everything work for six hours and then display goes blank? Are batteries actually being blown out onto the flower?
