My 10 year old AMANA HVAC will intermittently putt out room

Customer Question

My 10 year old AMANA HVAC will intermittently putt out room temperature air while the compressor fan still runs. While this is happening there is no hot refrigerant traveling through the small copper tube.

My name is Billy.

The only way this can happen is if the compressor is going off on thermal overload and then recovering.

It could be due to:

Too much heat

Compressor wearing out

Capacitor wearing out

or a refrigerant issue.

Is this something you are going to try and fix yourself?

Do you have 220v experience and a set of gages?
