What is blink pattern now?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

I meant to tell you.The blower should run nonstop for 90 seconds. Then light should turn solid and the vent motor should come on starting heat cycle. If you did not hold door switch and jumper on R and W for at least 90 seconds, Do it again and keep doing for 90 seconds.

i did it for 90 and 1 min and 54 secs. the last time the light held solid and the blowing stopped and the furnace was just humming until i release the switch and removed the plier.
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

OK if just humming. we may have a bad inducer vent motor. Lets concentrate on that.

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
ok
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
what does that entail?
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

Do you see that little rubber hose between vent motor and the pressure switch (pressure switch has the yellow and orange wires)

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
taking a look for that....
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

Tape or hold door switch in to keep power to furnace .Turn thermostat to call for heat.Remove the rubber hose from inducer. Leave attached to pressure switch. then suck on end of hose and see if pressure switch clicks and closes and if furnace will ignite.

dang....hope i didn't inhale something i shouldn't have. ... i heard the pressure switch click with the suction ...furnace just hums
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

I think we have an issue with that inducer motor.Do you have a multi meter for checking voltage?

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
i don't know what that is.. this is my first time in a furnace
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
sorry..oh..no i don't..
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

I think probably going to be best to get a tech there to troubleshoot as some of the necessary test are going to require the meter and being familiar with what to do.It would be awfully easy to cause harm to yourself to damage to equipment or even home if not familiar with working on the furnace .

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
thanks for that advice. but...does it appear to be the inducer motor though or not necessarily.
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

That is what it sounds like. The inducer has to start before anything else. But I hate to condemn it since board is not giving us an error code of pressure switch it could be board.

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
ok so if it is the board is that more serious than inducer motor?
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

Probably about same price but hate to tell you which one to change without troubleshooting with a meter

Ask Your Own HVAC Question
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
if it is the board, is that more serious than the inducer motor?
HVAC Technician: airheatman, HVAC Technician replied 2 years ago

Board will probably actually cost a little less than inducer to replace.
