My old thermostat did not appear to be working as it was

Customer Question

My old thermostat did not appear to be working as it was blowing cold air EVEN after Im turned it off. I purchased a ct87n to wire up. The old one had a white , green , yellow and red hooked up. It also had 4 other wires that were not connected to anything. Hopefully I can use this product and should I remove the jumper on the red wire connecter. I can't return this as the package has been opened and I had to modify the back plate because it was so far off center. Your input would be appreciated. I am 74 yrs old and money is tight. Hiring a plumber at this time would be tough on me. Sincerely, ***** *****
