My auger feed only works when I "bypass" the vacuum switch

Customer Question

My auger feed only works when I "bypass" the vacuum switch with a "paperclip." this problem still exists after replacing with new vacuum switch, new auger motor, new, all (3) snap discs. Does my 11 year old door gasket ( flat and stiff) contribute to a "vacuum" problem? thaNKS, *****

I can help you with this problem. If the door gasket is very loose then yes it can prevent the stove from creating enough vacuum to pull in the vacuum switch, however usually the problem is due to a dirty stove or stove pipe. The auger motor, and snap switches have nothing to do with the problem. Have you had the stove and pipe cleaned professionally (removing baffles, disconnecting exhaust blower and cleaning pellet vent pipe? This should be done first.
