Have a Richmond (Rheem?) 6G75-75F natural gas fired water

Customer Question

Have a Richmond (Rheem?) 6G75-75F natural gas fired water heater installed 2010.
Pilot light is lightable, but goes out at random times. Problem started about a month ago when weather got terrible cold. Water heater is vented thru roof in conjunction with
a gas fired force air furnace. At present I believe the water heater is "capping".
?: Should I replace the entire Rheem AM39860-1 (RG4 burner assembly) to see if it
helps. There will be no going up on the roof and venting here 'till April.

The most common cause for this type of problem is clogged air intake. When the intake on a sealed chamber unit gets clogged the main burner shutting down causes excess turbulence which can put the pilot out
