Customer: I have a ameristar Heat pump/in A/C works great / the problem is in heating low side drops to 45-55, high side 550-600 then shut off, is there a metering devise in the manifold that could be stuck

So far it sounds like a heat pump with a clogged up outside coil (or a frosty one) and not enough air flow across the indoor coil, or a dirty coil. And possibly over charged with refrigerant.

Tell me about how old the system is, and when the indoor and outdoor coils were last cleaned... and a bit of history on the system.
