Customer Question

I have a Carrier 58STA10116 with a code 33. I bypass the main limit switch and the furnace runs fine. I reaplaced the main limit switch today and still get the code 33. I go back into bypassing the main limit and it works fine.

The heat chamber is getting too hot for some reason.have you checked filter and blower to make sure they are not dirty?

Dirty blower wheel or dirty ac coil are two most likely causes.(If you have ac)Extreme case, could be a bad heat exchanger.I would check the blower, filter and ac coil if you have ac first.
