I have a Sanyo split system KHS 1232. Installed about 8

Customer Question

I have a Sanyo split system KHS 1232. Installed about 8 years ago. Always been reliable. Now, it starts but doesn't continue to heat up to the selected temp. Say selected temp is 68 and room 62. It'll run until room temp is maybe 64. then goes idle while green opr light blinks. Does not restart. Will start if turn remote off, then on. Same thing happens

Hello,

how does the unit respond in cooling mode?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can't tell. Room temp is currently 64 with remote set at 68. Shift mode to cool and it does nothing, as you would expect. I tried to set temp to 62 but it only goes down to 64. Now what?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.

use a hair dryer on the sensor in front of unit to fool it into cooling

Then tell me response

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Billy: Got "room temp" to 90 with setting at 68 and remote set to cool. No AC.

Thank you...was unit running but did not cool...or did not run?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thanks for sticking with me. In response to your last question, did not run.

Ok, with it not reaching temp...not kicking on...it would appear to be a refrigerant loss issue. Do you any oily residue at the outdoor unit on piping or fittings?..any oil in bottom of outdoor unit?
