I have renovated my kitchen and the plumber says I should

Customer Question

I have renovated my kitchen and the plumber says I should not reinstall my Maytag DWU9200AAX dishwashwer (22 years old). It has worked fine all its life so far. He says that since it has been sitting in the shed disconnected since April, the seals are likely no good and that reinstalling will mean lots of service calls from now on and that I should buy a new one. Do you agree? Thank you. Charlie

Yes I agree. A 22 year old dishwasher doesn't owe you anything and if you put it back and it doesn't work properly or fails in short order you'll have to pay the plumber to remove and re-install a new one. That money would be better spent on a new unit.
