Customer Question

In Oct 2014 purchased an Am. Standard roof package unit. In Mar 2015 I started smelling this burning or toxic. I replaced items & after a while smell disappeared. Just last Thursday, 8/27/15 the smell started again. I did have the Installer in March said all looking good. Don't trust them so hired a new company. They cleaned and checked everything & is fine. The tech did agree to smell an odor. I have a 9/12/15 visit sched. with one of their specialist. I removed my new computer surge protector & stored in shed. I still feel something coming from a/c unit. I put fan in window and seems to help. This smell irritates my eyes/nos/throat. Wonder if it is bad freon or slow burning out regulator? Thanks

I do not suspect the odor is coming from the refrigerant as the new R410A is an odorless refrigerant. Did you have them look for possible signs of mold?
