is this a zone system reporting to a zone controller?
Id so have you tried to swap zone position on board.

One zone.
I have Honewell Redlink Wireless sytem. Includes the standard wireless Thermostat (Th6320ER1004) and the remote (rem5000r1001). Ether can be designated to control the system. The thermostat works but the remote will not connect and shows a "connect error" E1 38.

There is only one zone with 2 remote thermostats. The main wireless thermostat is designed to be located at a central wall inside the house. It controls the system unless you want to use the 2 remote thermostat to take control and command the system to provide the desired temp wherever it is located. Only the main thermostat is connected to the system. The 2nd thermostat is not connecting.
