hello, do you have an extra wire in the bundle not being used?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I only have 4 wires going to the existing thermostat:
G-Green connected to G
W-white connected to W
Y-Blue connected to Y
R-Red connected to R with a jumper on R and RC
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Did you get my info?

do you ever use the feature "fan on" instead of auto?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No, always use auto
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 2 years ago.
ok there is a cheat without pulling wire if you are ok changing a wire in furnace?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ok, but is there any downside or danger to the system?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 2 years ago.
nope....just that you give up fan on feature.
No harm or issues at all....except if you use fan on it will turn on ac. This will only work if you never intend on using fan on.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Would that present any problem during a house inspection, if it's done by a buyer during a sale of the house?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have never used fan only, and I don't believe I will use it
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 2 years ago.
I have never had it ever come up.
So few people use fan on feature....of all I have done I have never heard negative or home disclosure issues....
You have 2 choices. Run more wire from thermostat to furnace...connect the same wire in thermostat to C and the other end in furnace to C.
Option 2 - in thermostat...put green on C...nothing on G.
In furnace...move green from g to C....
Use a short wire and attach terminal G to Y.
