I have a State gas hot water heater that will not run more

I have a State gas hot water heater that will not run more than once,gets up to temp then will not restart when required the only way is to reboot-it (unplug and replug then it starts)I get no lights on the panel led status as to why?

What happens when it won't restart?

nothing runs, just end up with tank full of cold water

Then you probably have a faulty gas control valve. If the heater is more than 8 years old it may not be worth the expense to replace it since the tank could leak at any time. If the unit is less than 6 years old then it may be under warranty

Then I'd suggest you look into a warranty claim. Usually the plumber who installed the unit will handle warranty issues.
