Customer Question

Hi Heath.. I think my Copeland cr22kf-pfv-130 air compressor is shot. Hot as heck upstairs. How do I know for sure and what the connection between the compressor outside and what's in the attic

is the outdoor section running?...indoor blower running?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The outdoor section is not running. The vent is blowing warm air

Thank you,

Do you have a drain safety switch or safety pan under the unit in attic?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I haven't been up there. The last tech that serviced the unit said it was leaking. The unit outside used to have ice on the coil. Nothing now

we have a couple choices

1 - the unit has lost enough freon to trip a low pressure switch and the unit is being held off by that safety.

2 - the drain safety switch is tripped which means the drain in the attic is plugged and needs to be shop vacuumed out and drain clear.

3 - some damage has occured to the thermostat wire at outdoor unit and has blown a low voltage fuse.

So that is the choices...low on freon requires a service tech..the drain can be cleared if you have the right equipment...the fuse can be checked but requires getting inside the unit in attic

Ok. I'll check out those options. Thanks
