Compressor runs, but the outside fan does not. I replaced

Customer Question

Compressor runs, but the outside fan does not. I replaced the fan motor and the capacitor. It ran for two days, but now the fan will not turn on again.

If the motor is getting power then you got a bad one. I assume you have a motor that was matched to the old one.

Yes, I took the old fan motor to a Grainger location and got the replacement they recommended. It seems very unlikely to me that the new motor would make everything work perfectly for two days and then stop working. Have you seen this before?

When a new motor is bad it goes out rather quickly. A voltage test will prove what is wrong.
