I have a beckett oil fired boiler that wont start. I came home

Customer Question

I have a beckett oil fired boiler that wont start. I came home to find the button on the Honeywell swith popped and when I press it nothing happens. It appears that electricity is getting to the Honeywell swith because it will pop after about 45 seconds. nothing happens during that 45 seconds. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you might have a bad motor. If the motor doesn't run it will seem like nothing is happening when actually an arc at the electrodes is being generated. It's also possible that the ignition control is faulty. You need a multi meter to check the voltage output from the control to determine the actual culprit
