Lennox XP14 with a short on the Y1 lead at the compressor:

Customer Question

Lennox XP14 with a short on the Y1 lead at the compressor: the 24V air handler fuse blows with that lead connected; it does not blow with the lead disconnected.

Welcome!
That is good detective work on your end.
Put one of your multi meter test probes on any copper tubing connected to the outside unit and the other one on all of the 24volt connections inside the unit, starting with the 24v coil on the compressor contactor.. when you get a read tell me about it.
Meantime attach a well lit photo of wiring diagram glued to the inside of the electrical box where the Y1 wire connects.... use the 'attach files' link at the bottom left of your dialog box for that.
We can go from there.
