I have a White-Rodgers 1F78 thermostat and after replacing the batteries it's stuck on hold and I can't change the temperature
Not sure on this model but most thermostats have a reset button which is a small hole you can insert a paper clip to reset.

I can't find any hole on it that would be a reset button. Any other ideas?

You may have to take it off the wall. It may be in back. It may also be a white button. I am going to see if I have a WR manual. I will look and get back to oyu in a few

To reset, Disconnect wires from R & C and remove batteries for two minutes.
