I have a XL-80 furnance, model TUD120R954A1; AC XE-1000, model TTRD36C100AD

I am trading out a Trane TAYSTAT241 with a hunter 44860.
g=green, y1=yellow, w1=white or pink, w2=brown, r=red, b=blue

Hunter is RH=Heating Transformer Power Supply, RC=Cooling Transformer Power Supply, C=24VAC Common, Y1=Cooling Stage 1, Y2=Cooling Stage 2, W1=Heating Stage 1, W2=Heating Stage 2, G=Fan

How should I wire it?
Hi, I'm Douglas and I am here to help you resolve problems with your heating and cooling equipment.

On the new thermostat...

Red to RH and a small jumper to RC
Green to G
Yellow to Y1
White to W1
Blue to C
Brown to W2

They are pretty much the same except Trane used to refer to C as B.

Be sure to turn the furnace power off first so you don't accidentally blow a fuse. Once it's wired you can repower the furnace.

It's too cold for a test but will my AC work as well with this wiring?

Absolutely. On a call for cool, power is sent down the yellow wire to turn the condenser on and down the green wire to turn the indoor blower on. You can test it, just don't let it run for more than a minute. Remember there may be a time delay incorporated either in the stat or in the outdoor unit.
