They are multi stage in the fact that there is one stage cool and 2 stage heat on the 7400

So I have to get the right thermostat. But I'm not sure which one will be the right one. I bought this one at lowes, there were others that cost a little more and maybe they will have the one i need.

Your old 1f85-277 is 2 stage heat and 2 stage cool (2Heat/2Cool)

The 7400 is 2 Heat and one cool (2Heat/1 Cool)
